Summer Nights at Harkness Concert Season  Celebrates 100th Anniversary of Connecticut State Parks with Legendary Music Under the Stars!

Bring Our Music Back, Inc.  in association with the Tinty Foundation celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the Connecticut’s State Parks with  “Summer Nights at Harkness” 2013 concert season opening the stage door to 70 years of music history at Harkness Memorial State Park, Waterford, CT.

Five concerts are planned for music under the stars at one of Connecticut’s treasured landmarks, Harkness Memorial State Park — located in Waterford, Connecticut.  Concert dates are mid-week beginning July 18th with the motown sounds of the Platters and Coasters; July 25th—An Evening with Judy Collins; July 31st with ledgendry artist, Leon Russell;  August 8th–The Duke Ellington Orchestra and the season finale, August 15th with a Night of Opera Under the Stars.  All concerts are 6-10p,  gates open at 5pm for traditional picnicking.
This year, “Summer Nights at Harkness” pays tribute to music legends over the last seven decades–all who have  found their voices as American icons.  Concerts will feature jazz of the 40′s;  Motown of the 50s;  Folk of the 60s, sounds of the 70′s — and a season finale featuring one of the world’s leading Tenors, Carl Tanner — with a charming story of how one man found his voice on the Cross Bronx Expressway!
