As Woman we are pulled in many different directions, kids, career, home care, marriage, etc. etc. Leaving little time for US! As caregivers to others, we are often left stressed and tired.
I was no exception, so when Anne Garland’s event came around, I was a bundle of tired nerves, but loving Anne Garland and always in awe of her events, I knew I couldn’t miss it! I had gone the year before and really enjoyed myself. This year www.JakisBuzz.com has really grown tremendously, in part thanks to some great advice by Anne Garland, so I knew I would come away feeling better/learning something etc.
I got way more then I ever expected this year!! It was in one word AMAZING!!
Empowerment was this year’s theme. Focus was on career, body/health and spirit. The day began with a light breakfast followed
by a panel of empowered women who have faced their demons and came out winners. AM Emcee was my pal, the always delightful,
entertaining Lisa Wexler, author and radio talk show host of The Lisa Wexler Show, Fairfield County’s favorite radio personality three years in a row.
This year’s extraordinary lineup of speakers empowered and inspired US! Event featured local celebrities, free massages, makeover models, fall fashion updates, social media, beauty and health tips and even cooking. I learned a lot about branding from straight talking, smart and sassy Leslie Singer of SingerSalt Co. in her Empowerment through Branding talk. Leslie please, please come work with Jaki’s Buzz… I got motivated to be better with time management so I could put to use some tips I learned in the Organizational Power workshop taught by author Lisa Lelas who’s also creater/host of Simply Organized and was seen on Oprah and the Today Show. I will need to buzz with these wonderful ladies in future, so look out for them!
Afternoon Emcee and Keynote was the wise and wonderfully inspiring Dr. Dorthy Martin-Neville, Ph.D, international speaker, healer, and author who has empowered many a soul! Her speech was such a deep and powerfully touching experience, we all stood up to give this amazing lady a standing ovation! She motivated us all to stop making excuses, stop giving our power away and to truly live the most divine life possible!! I’ve been lucky enough to interview both of these unique, inspiring women for www.JakisBuzz.com
You can see Dorothy Martin-Neville’s interview at http://youtu.be/Bt_AmisERbg and Lisa Wexler’s interview both by herself here http://youtu.be/fn56U9aPNEQ and with her mom and celebrity sister Jill Zarin at http://youtu.be/LM8lil9cRm8
Closing keynote was the very humorous Scot Haney, WFSB Channel 3 and his beautiful Mom – (a cancer survivor) was one of the fashion models for this event.
I listened, I laughed, I made new friends, I relaxed and remembered what was important. I also vowed to not give away my power anymore! I truly did walk away from this amazing event thinking that our life possibilities are endless and how I must continue to go to events like these, to connect and walk the path with other amazing inspiring souls!
I’m already looking forward to Anne Garland’s next Idea Circle for Women event! I will need to keep with me the lessons from this beautiful day, which for me is a struggle, but I will do my best.
Isn’t this what life is truly about?

Jaki – so pleased you were a part of this great day and you were reminded to NOT give your power away and stay true to yourself. It is always a joy working with you and your team and sharing all of my resources of women power with the masses!More to come in 2012!
